Carpathia Hosting Inc. is looking for a Network Engineer for our corporate headquarters in Ashburn, VA.
As a key member of the engineering team you will be directly responsible for the successful implementation and support of our customers networks. Communication with customers and vendors in a clear and professional manner is an absolute must.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform hands-on configuration, installation, and day-to-day operational support of all aspects of our clients networks

Work closely with the systems team to troubleshoot issues

Interact with vendor technical support groups to resolve problems and bugs
-
Tier 3 support rotation
Other Responsibilities for the network team:

Product testing and network infrastructure OS validation
-
Capacity planning and proactive systems upgrades
In addition to general Microsoft Office and Visio experience we require:
-
Knowledge of various router configurations such as those for Cisco and Juniper.

Understanding of routing protocols OSPF and BGP – (Knowledge of IS-IS MPLS, RSVP, LDP, L3VPN, VPLS, L2VPN, Multicast VPN Multicast a plus)

Knowledge of IPv6 Addressing and Routing with real world experience.

Experience with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following products
-
Cisco routers and switches, including the 7600 & 6500 series
-
Cisco Pix/ASA firewall and VPN concentrator configuration
-
Juniper routers and switches, including the M & MX series
-
Juniper SSG & SRX series firewalls
-
Experience with the following devices a plus
-
Foundry switches including the ServerIron & BigIron series
-
F5 LTM / Citrix Netscaler
-
Knowledge of Network Security and Cisco / Juniper advanced security configurations (access lists, control-plane policer, firewall filters) and IPSec networks.

Experience with network statistical monitoring and analysis, including the use of SNMP agents,

Experience with enterprise class Network Management platforms (Juniper NSM)
Technical Certifications requested:
-
Cisco Certification at CCNP or CCIP level or above

Juniper Certification at JNCIS level or above
General Qualifications:
-
Five years of progressive network engineering experience
-
BS / BA in a related field (or equivalent experience)
-
Must be able to pass an extensive background check

Must be a U.S Citizen: Secret clearance holder preferred
